Collection of Data

CE.TV gathers data about users from different sources. First, through optional, voluntary subscription to our newsletter; second through optional, voluntary participation in certain contests and sweepstakes. CE.TV offers a free electronic newsletter to users who are interested in receiving news and information, special offers and channel programming updates. CE.TV gathers the email addresses of users who voluntarily subscribe. Users may remove themselves from this mailing list by following the link provided in every newsletter. Occasionally CE.TV will conduct user surveys to better target our content to our audience. We may share the aggregated demographic information in these surveys with our advertisers and partners. We NEVER share any information about specific individuals with any third party. CE.TV offers interactive polls to users so they can easily share their opinions with other users and see what the Career Entertainment Television audience thinks about relevant issues. Additionally, users are aggregated for tracking information derived by tallying page views throughout our site, tracking cookies, logging IP addresses, and browser type. Again, gathering such information not only enables us to better tailor our content to visitor and viewers' needs and help our advertisers better understand the demographics of our audience, it also allows us to streamline your interaction with the site as we diagnose problems with our server and provide courtesies such as forms that "remember" your information, saving time when you're filling them out. Because CE.TV derives its revenue mainly from advertising, providing such aggregated demographic data is essential to keeping our service free to users. How We Use What We Know

The information that is gathered on each of the data entry forms throughout the site, as described above, is utilized to better understand and serve the needs of our community--that is, everyone who works or who wants to work. The site does this by building a community database that provides individual and overall demographic and psychographic profiles. Information from our resume file and electronic hiring halls will have security features built into them for the ultimate in privacy protection.

We Don't Share the Wealth

The postal address information gathered on merchandise purchases (CE.TV t-shirts and other swag, along with book purchases linked to amazon.com) is shared with external third-party shippers. Additionally, sponsored third party sweepstakes, contests or promotions where demographic information is gathered is shared with the third party for marketing purposes. The information gathered beyond name, e-mail address, age, gender, education and CE.TV availability is optional except in the case of sweepstakes/contests, where further information is needed for fulfillment.

Three's Not Necessarily a Crowd

Some of our pages may contain links to third parties that collect information through cookies or other methods, or which link to other sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Visitors should consult the other sites' privacy notices as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.

Worst Case Scenario

Not withstanding anything in this agreement, information collected under this policy may be transferred to a third party, successor in interest, or other entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or similar reorganization.
